Is Double Glazing Complicated?
So many home improvements sound more complicated and expensive than they truly are. The term double glazing, for instance, leaves many homeowners with a queasy feeling of unforeseeable expense and difficult installation. Fortunately the science behind double glazing isn’t nearly as complicated as it might sound.
Double glazed windows have two panes of glass with air or inert gas sealed between them. They are encased in either a wood, aluminum or uPVC frame and can be quite cost-effective or quite expensive depending on the materials used. Those containing gas between the panes are more efficient than the air variety, but can be more expensive as you might expect.
