Choosing the right paint for your home
While DIY painting may be straightforward using a roller brush and some paint, choosing the right paint requires some consideration of factors like cleanability, appearance and cost. For walls and areas with high traffic and children’s activities, an eggshell or satin finish will make cleaning easy without wearing out the paint too soon. Ceilings which rarely receive dirt or stains will do very well with matte or flat finish paint. A matte finish will also hide scratches and marks on walls better than a satin or glossy finish, so it’s best to keep a small can of extra matte finish paint handy for quick touchups.
